Hi everyone,

I just saw a talk at FOSDEM on OpenPush, an implementation of a federated independent push infrastructure.
While it was developed with a focus on Android, the server implementation (a prototype) and protocol should be usable as well. The Sailfish side still needs to local push notification daemon and the library code used in applications for communicating with that daemon. But then we could profit from the same push server ecosystem like the Android side.

So if you consider adding some push service to your apps, please first take a look at this before rolling your own solution: https://bubu1.eu/openpush/

All the best from Brussels
