Don know about OTG, but my Linux systems always attach a Generic Serial 
Driver to the devices.
Why is Sailfish acting differently?

No go in a cockpit. Wires are far more reliable, and BT not allowed due 
to risc of interference with RT/transponder etc. equipment.
