In the meantime, another way is to use XMPP gateway server side. This
way, your whatsapp contacts will be seen as classical XMPP contacts, and
you don't need any additional software installed on your Jolla.

I do believe that it is much better to handle other messenging services
as a XMPP gateway instead of building ad-hoc apps for Jolla.
